the love padlock`story in Europe

Liebesschlösser, love padlocks, luchetti d´amore, cadenas d´amour, cadenas del amor

Beginning of the 80s appeared the first amorchetti (love padlocks) in the Hungarian city of Pécs on and at different places in Italy. Whether these locks engraved with the name was a form of joy at the conclusion of the military service of recruits or even a document of a love promise,  is still a mystery ...

When the first fences were hung full of castles, locals and tourists began to attach the locks on other significant sites. Often there are places, bridges and stairs that which stand for the transition to a different "world" or have a special meaning for the visitors, for example because they met there and learned to love or they have assured their love again.

The joint decision for each other is highlighted by throwing away the key: the love is so great that nobody can solve this connection again!

All over the world (see, eg. on FlickR)  this amorchetti ®  are seen and are  to become a beautiful symbol
for couples for the same internationally apparently wish, to make the world share their good fortune .

Recently, also observed subsequent "additions", such as then if the pair continues to expand ...

As a nice idea has also proved a variant of this trend: the locks for a friendly couple are fitted at a meaningful or exotic location, are photographed and will be given as a gift with a few explanatory words.

In Modena, Italy, there's a new variant: Here are sticking hundreds of Post-it notes with messages of love, etc.
at the walls of a house tunnel.

We would be pleased if you join the community on Facebook and tell your story ....

At this point
we have to point out for liability reasons, that you should pay attention to any bans when you are fitting your lock at a fence or a bridge!
